I have combined all the individual featured flavors into one post now~ new flavors will be added at the top!

May 2013 flavor of the month in honor of Korea’s children’s day is “Treasure Chest”!  This flavor is apparently melon and banana ice cream mixed with chocolate balls and what I think is popping candy, need to taste it still!

Summer is in full swing, so Baskin Robbins Korea has decided to come up with a delicious summer flavor for everyone to enjoy, “My Lemon Tree

At first I expected this to be a sherbet, but its a creamy vanilla mix!  The ice cream consists of a really smooth lemon vanilla with a swirl of sweet cherry syrup (I had a bit of cherry chunk in some of my scoop, it is almost like maraschino cherry!)  and these awesome little sweet lemon sugar clusters that crumble easily.

Its really sweet, but works well for the summer I think and I bet as a shake it works really well.  This is more candy sweet like Dino Party, but I find it a lot more enjoyable even though it has rock sugar in it~ I think its just a nice mixture of fun things.

This flavor is a special for this month, which depending on sales means it should be around for a solid month or two if people like it~ So if you are in Korea and you want ice cream in the middle of the hot day while you walk around the park you should give it a try ♥

April is a month of beautiful pastel colors for Easter! Although Korea does not really celebrate Easter like we do back in America, I was able to enjoy some pastel in my spring with its monthly flavor “Cotton Candy Wonderland ♥ 이상한 나라의 솜사탕

Normally I am not a big fan of cotton candy flavored anything except for cotton candy, its always just too sweet. When I saw the promos for this in April I was in love with the flavor visually because its so freaking cute, but when I read it was a cotton candy flavor I was sure I would hate it. Nara likes cotton candy flavored things a lot lately though, so he agreed to be my assistant with this tasting~ just in case I hated it I could just make him eat the rest, no sense in wasting a good scoop of ice cream! lol

When it finally launched we headed in to give it a try, as usual the new flavor was down to the last few scoops~ No matter what, new flavors at BR seem to always sell very well at first. I’m guessing people find it as fun to try them as we do! Anyway, the ice cream was a pretty pastel just like in the promo images~

The taste~~~ Interesting!! I have never had something like this before! It was a very smooth and creamy vanilla mousse with the flavoring of cotton candy mixed in~ the colors seemed to just be for show and did not have any flavor variation in them. It was not overly sweet, and nice and smooth~ I rather enjoyed it ♥ What made it so special was what exactly they mixed into the flavor though.

The little pink things are actually an amazing combo of what tasted like crunch crisps + pop rock clusters mixed with strawberry chocolate!! Now that was unexpected!!

This is one of those flavors that totally intrigues me (like the Dino Jelly for March) and I found it a very fun experience. Even though I don’t particularly enjoy the cotton candy flavor in general, hands down this was the most awesome cotton candy ice cream anything I have ever nom nomed because it was subtle and so creamy~ Baskin Robbins Korea really tries some fun things with flavors here!

Apparently I was not the only one who loved the colors~ On the Korean Baskin Robbins blog they even made ice cream tarts out of it. Look how pretty it is! You can make these so easy too… just add some softened ice cream into a crust (pref cookie) and freeze. NOW I WANT TO MAKE A PRETTY BITTY PASTEL ICE CREAM PIE!

The Baskin Robbins flavor of the month for March here in Korea is 솔티 카라멜라 Salty Carmella! Have you had it yet?

This flavor became one of our favorites REALLY fast, we have been eating it non stop and I know both Nara and I will really miss it when it is gone. The ice cream is basically a light salty caramel tasting vanilla with tiny little caramel chocolates mixed in!

So good! The caramel taste was not as salty as I thought it would be, but it is a kind of “fancy” caramel taste vs the super sugary caramel flavor ribbon that some other types use, does that make sense? haha.

Most monthly flavors are just fun for a little while, but this one and the Halloween flavors I really miss when they go away T_T Have you had this one yet? I only wish they used a smoother ice cream and had the salty taste worked in a bit more.

man, why don’t they come out with awesome flavors like this in america?

I know, right?? When we move back to the USA I am going to miss actually looking forward to the new monthly flavors… back home you hardly even notice them or care because they are all weird or overly safe/expected.

  • Oh YUM! This sounds delicious. A little hard to imagine with a lemony vanilla ice cream would taste like – as you said, I pretty much expected it would be a sherbert/sorbet from the sound of it.
